Lytespirit's World

Name:
Location: Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, United States

Living in TN has been the greatest joy I've ever known. The rural setting I live in, enhances my love of Nature, and gives my Furry Friends lots of room to roam and play. My computer and cell phone keeps me in touch with my loved ones, who are scattered from California to New York....wish I could see them more often! Life is fantastic and a "new" experience and challenge every day!

More House Scenery

See how my house is totally nestled in trees?? The biggest one is a huge Maple, others are Ash and a Bramble Bush. Got about an acre of land, that mostly stretches out to the front. And NO close neighbors...yeah!!!!!!!!!
Picture below is looking from the end of my driveway...can hardly see the house for the TREES!! I just love all this greenness.........makes me very happy and content! You can just make out the tire swing put up for Justin's trip to Lawrenceburg 2 yrs ago....he enjoyed swinging!
This pic below shows the "front" lawn. I don't mind mowing it myself, but do get a bit winded sometimes. As you can see, the house sits up kinda on a small hill....which is great cuz all the rain water flows down hill!! A little hard to see...but just under the right window is where my STORM shelter is...got a make shift door that I actually nailed shut from the inside during the last storm which was a doooosie!!
That room with the three windows is my "shop". I keep all my inventory for my business located at http://www.lytecreations.com if ya wanna peek.......and.....
way down there......is where my mailbox sits......some days that's the only exercise I get, haha!

My House

Ok, kids, you asked for pictures of where I live. Spent some time with my new camera this morning, took lots of pics for you. These show fairly close ups of house itself. I use the entrance in the "back" of the house, where the little enclosed porch is. Soon there will be hanging baskets all along the outside of the porch. Pics show two other views of the house...including the "front" door which I hardly ever use, but there's a outside light there which I keep lit at night, so my kittens can see their way home, LOL
Like my mailbox???? My house is way up on the hill to the right of the picture. I took others pics, farther away so you can actually see the beautiful setting I live in....

The Beginning

This is where "it" all begins, at my computer desk!! I must spend more hours here than anywhere else, LOL, except maybe outside in my yard. Notice the rabbit skins on the arms of the chair....gosh without them I'd wear the skin right off my arms!! I like this spot in my living room for the computer because the sunshine comes in the window, and the window also has my A/C for those HOT Tennessee days. Just so you know....the desk appears cleaner than it ever is!!

My Newest Project

Well I can't credit for the actual "carving" of this planter....I can say I spent hours on it. When avoiding an impending tornado last month 4/06, I discovered pieces of this "wagon, donkeys [or horses, who can tell for sure] and rider...in my root cellar/crawl space under the house. I pulled it out after the danger had passed and used much elbow grease, sand paper, nails/hammer and spray paint to make it look such as it does. Today, Mother's Day '06, I ventured out to our local store like the Agway in New York, and bought flowers to enhance it. I really enjoyed working on this project, and now it sits under the big Elm tree in my side yard. you like???

Little Momma (Nature's second litter}

Here's Little Momma. She also goes by FlufferNutter and Spit Fire....the latter due to her frequent "hisses and spits" toward almost every other cat/kitten. Her nature is actually very sweet, but she is very territorial and doesn't readily accept others into her "personal space" Almost 2 yrs old, she is a good sized cat, long haired, but takes immaculate care of herself.

After one litter (GreyWolf, Jack and Mr Chen) she had her surgery and has been a bit more content with her surrounding family.

Her long black fur is very grey underneath, and when rubbed 'backwards' actually looks very grey.

Smudgey (Nature's second litter)

Say "Hello" to my sweet Smudgey!! She is one of four kittens Nature had about 1.5 yrs ago. She started out being called "Smushy Nose" because as you can see....she has a very short nose. Her legs are also very short and she hides very easily in the tall grass!!
I lovingly call her my "Little Bit-o-Feline" or "Little Bit" for short. She never went into heat, so no surgery for her so far.
She's a very loving kitten, but likes to stay to herself most of the time. Sometimes joins in the kitten play, but generally tries to keep most other cats away.
Sadly one of her womb mates, a fully black cat ran away at 4 months of age, but she has two others of her same age, Zoey and Little Momma.

Squeeky (Nature's first litter)

This is my oldest male, Squeeky. When he was born, a tiny peach fuzz thing, I called him Peaches, because I didn't know he was a boy. He grew into the name Squeeky, he really doesn't "meow", he just squeeks!!He is one of Nature's first litter. She also had Little Bear, all black with a little white fur under his chin. Little Bear just insists on running away, and perhaps actually lives somewheres else, we just don't know, but see him roaming around, about every 3-4 months or so.
Now back to Squeeky....he's 2 yrs old. I tell him he's my TOP DOG, cuz he's the oldest male and my constant companion. He generally hunts most of the night, comes in for breakfast around 5 am, sleeps in my front room most of day, and out he goes again. Very sweet cat, very possessive of me, and sleeps on my chest for hours at a time.

He takes pretty good care of his long hair, although needs frequent brushings to take care of all the "burs" he gathers.

"Mother Nature"

This is "Nature" She came to live with me in the Spring of 2003, at the tender age of 4 months, after having spend her first few months of life on a chicken farm. Due to being chased by numerous chickens, she was fast on her feet, full of life and loved to cuddle. She's been great company, a very clean, neat cat, who loved to play with all the toys Aunt Joy brought her for Christmas that year!!

This was the beginning of our Cat Family. Nature has had three litters of kittens, and now even her kittens have kittens of their own. and....one "batch" to come in about 3 weeks will be Nature's great grandchildren. The many Tom Cats in the neighborhood provide constant "entertainment" for them all!!
