Living in TN has been the greatest joy I've ever known. The rural setting I live in, enhances my love of Nature, and gives my Furry Friends lots of room to roam and play. My computer and cell phone keeps me in touch with my loved ones, who are scattered from California to New York....wish I could see them more often! Life is fantastic and a "new" experience and challenge every day!

Houston, we've got SPRING!!

Spring, springs early in Tennessee, and as you can see the daffodils are blooming and our grass is beginning to grow!! We had over 70 degrees yesterday, but the weekend is supposed to be what we call "chilly" at about 50 degrees, LOL

This is one 5 month old kitten, we call him Ming.....he's enjoying the nice weather as we ALL are!! Posted by Picasa

Buzzard??

Yesterday, this fine specimen of a buzzard was just sitting in a tree outside our back door. He/She sat there over an hour. I thought maybe it was injured, but after a while...he just flew away. I didn't catch the flight on camera, wish I had!!
I was a bit worried, and kept one good I one him, because a bird this size can surely SCOOP up a kitten and fly away...thank God, I'm not missing anyone! QUITE A BEAUTY, eh?

New Pics of the "Kids" of the Dog variety

Noel enjoys the typical late February days in Tennessee. Tomorrow is supposed to get near 60 degrees, a welcome change from our deep freeze as of late. See how she has gained weight in our loving care? She's definately a very "odd" dog, some real neurological problems, but with her seizure medication, she seems less troubled by focal seizures and seems quite happy now that she knows where her next meal is coming from and WHEN its coming! Bless her heart, she's a sweetie!
And our famous "Goofey" or Little Brother [his given name, LOL] is growing very fast these days. Due to our very cold weather he's not getting as many walks as before and I think he's gained a little weight! I've started him on a semi "light" diet for one of his meals and I think that will work, till he can walk and walk and walk. God knows I NEED the walks too!! Goofey was 1 yr old on Jan 1st, so he's beginning to just slightly act like a DOG instead of a puppy. He's always forgetting he's got that wiggly butt behind him, and when he's acting excited or silly, he knocks down all sorts of things. He's a love and is a very well mannered boy.......I'd say we've got a winner here!! Posted by Picasa

Let it SNOW !!

Yaaah!! The first snow of the year!! We got about an inch yesterday and another inch today. You should have seen the crowds at the grocery stores, stocking up for a long "snow" I guess, schools are closed and gas station lines long! Yikes, in the deep south we are not used to ANY snow, so this is a big deal! Just a couple pics of my buddies, enjoying the snow. Goofey's showing his teeth, but he does like the snow! Enjoy, MOM

Merry Christmas to "NOEL"

Guess what Santa brought the household for Christmas??
Introducing~~ "NOEL"

She's a very hungry stray that seems to have adopted us!! Very very thin and seemed to be on her last leg when she wandered in. Mixed breed, any guesses as to what mix she might be??

She's been eating constantly since arrival....gosh I really didn't want another dog...and may not keep her, LOL, but just had to save her life, I really don't think she could have lasted much longer without regular meals.

The cats seem to have adjusted pretty well....but of course our "Goofey" the Rottie, has his nose bent outta shape just a little. Well see what happens in the next couple days.
Don't ya just love the name Noel? Just in time for Christmas!!

The Big BREAKOUT!!

Well, they finally did it, broke the bedroom screen out, and now they use it for a hammock!! This is one of the 3 month old kittens....she really worked hard to get the screen out, apparently when we weren't lookin' but has settled in on her new hammock!! LOL I believe this is "Rusty's girl"

Not sure what they're looking at here, but there is a big bird feeder just outside the window. Since this pic was taken they have learned to jump to the ground from their hammock and truly escape. Glad they come back, but not through the window, too high to jump back up!! That looks like "Sid" watching from the ledge Posted by Picasa

Kitty Strategy? Does it work?

These days, our cats really need to "Powwow" about that DOG!! They get a bit confused at to what he actually is, LOL. He gets a bit excited when they're around, but all he really wants to do it play with them. My "Star" who has 3 month old kittens doesn't tolorate Goofey well...and gives him a stern swat on the nose whenever he's around, poor baby! Thought this pic was cute! Posted by Picasa

Little Brother enjoys Chewing the most!!

I've read some things about raw hide chews not being so good on a dog's digestive tract, but after he started chewing EVERYTHING around him, things he shouldn't I decided I'd better give him something he COULD chew on!! You can't really see his size in the pics but he's over 60 lbs now and quite a "puller" when walking him. I'm training him not to do that, but guess it takes time. Such a wonderful pet, I love him sooo much! Posted by Picasa
