Public Square - Davy Crockett and more
In the middle of the square is this open air building, used in the summertime mostly for singing contests, gospel singing fests, etc....they decorate it for Holidays, like Christmas, and Halloween. Nice place to sit and watch the sun go down on a warm Summer Eve.
One of Lawrenceburg's claims to fame, is that Davy Crockett traveled though this town, militarily I think. We have erected a statue in his honor, which sits on the South side of the square, which is actually a traffic CIRCLE, rather than a square, with 4 roads leading into it.
This is the inscription on the base of Davy Crockett's statue
On the North side of the square sits this monument to lives lost in war...we ARE in Redneck country but we do have monuments too, haha . This is really a hick town, but its HOME to me!
